What is considered oversized cargo?
An oversized object is an object whose weight, length or width exceeds the established limits. For example:
– Length: more than 12 m for a single vehicle or trailer, and up to 20 m for a road train.
– Width: more than 2.55 m (2.6 m for isothermal bodies).
– Height: more than 4 m.
From the point of view of customs legislation, oversized cargoes are processed in the same way as regular cargoes. They are cleared at general customs posts, using standard customs rates and in accordance with the TN VED system.
