VAVS Experts Share Experience: From Theory to Practice in International Business Process Modeling

On December 4, 2025, a practice-oriented meeting was held at the Ulyanovsk Institute of Civil Aviation named after Chief Marshal of Aviation B.P. Bugaev as part of a class on modeling cross-functional business processes. Cadets from the “Organization and Support of Business Processes in Air Transport” profile were introduced to the work of an international logistics operator through a master class led by Evgenia Vinokhodova, Head of the Transportation Department for China and Asia at VAVS LLC.

Evgenia conducted an in-depth master class for the future specialists on building complex business processes within an international transport company. The focus was on the key challenges logisticians face when operating in the global market.

Evgenia discussed in detail with the audience:

Managing processes beyond national legislation: How to reconcile different jurisdictions, customs laws, and industry standards.

Interaction with various functional models: Coordinating actions between sales departments, financial accounting, and foreign partners.

Managing financial risks: Analyzing and minimizing risks related to currency fluctuations, payment security, and logistics costs when building each business process.

The master class was based on a breakdown of the department’s full work cycle: from the client’s initial request and route development to contract signing and execution control. Evgenia emphasized the manager’s role as the central link, who not only coordinates transportation but also builds stable partnership relations.

“Our business processes are always ‘between’: between countries, legal fields, and business cultures. It is important for future professionals to understand this complexity already at the training stage. The practical task of developing a business process plan allowed them to try this role on for themselves,” noted Evgenia Vinokhodova.

The final task for the cadets was to develop their own plan for a complex international transportation business process, requiring them to apply all the principles they heard in practice.

Conducting such master classes is part of VAVS’s activities to develop the personnel potential of the logistics industry. The company actively cooperates with leading specialized universities, combining academic knowledge with practical experience.
